Christine Minelli is a Chartered Accountant (1981), a Chartered Business Valuator (2005) and a Certified Forensic Investigator (2007).
She is the President of Vine Valuations Inc. a boutique firm of specialists who provide business valuation and litigation support services to a wide range of clients across all industries.
A graduate of the University of Toronto (1976), Chris worked for Ernst & Young as both a tax and an audit manager before moving into industry, where she held several senior financial management positions in retail, manufacturing and high-tech companies, both public and private, as Controller, Vice-President of Tax, Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer.
As a member of Financial Executives International and with specialized training and over 20 years of industry experience, Chris’ depth of knowledge about the real life issues that owners face each day allows her to quickly identify value drivers and provide added insight into the current and future potential of her clients’ businesses. She has helped clients to develop their exit planning strategy and suggested changes to their business processes that will improve exit values. In addition to determining the current net worth of their business, Chris has also helped business owners to find strategic buyers and to negotiate price and terms.
An independent expert experienced and credentialed in forensic investigations, Chris’ clear analyses and objective reports are based on relevant evidence, resulting in many litigation disputes being settled before the expense of trial.
Her expertise has been acknowledged by invitations to speak at meetings of the Hamilton Law Association and the Golden Horseshoe CA Discussion Group.
Chris is the past Treasurer of the Dundas Valley School of Art, past member of the Executive of the Estate Planners Council - Hamilton Chapter and a member of a working subcomittee of Financial Executives International.
Eveline Reid is a Principal with Vine Valuations Inc. A Chartered Accountant (1992) and Chartered Business Valuator (1997-Silver Medalist), Eveline has worked exclusively in business valuation and financial litigation advisory services since 1994.
Eveline began her career working at Arthur Anderson in their business valuation and litigation support division then joined a boutique valuation and litigation practice in Toronto in 1998. Before joining Vine Valuations, Eveline was a Principal with LECG Canada Limited.
Eveline has acted on behalf of shareholders and other parties, including federal and provincial and municipal governments and for companies in diverse industries including manufacturing, food processing, high tech, hospitality, real estate and professional practices.
She has completed valuation analyses and damage claims in matters involving:
breach of contract;
breach of fiduciary claims;
product liability claims;
personal injury; and,
Eveline’s reports have been relied upon by the courts and she has assisted legal counsel in developing questions for the examination and cross examination of witnesses during Examinations for Discovery, mediations and arbitrations and at trial. She has also developed demonstrative evidence used at trial.
Eveline is a contributing author to “Guide to the Family Business Owner: What to do before you retire” published in 2009 by Aird and Berlis LLP dealing with business valuation and has recently spoken at an Insight Information conference on the topic of shareholder dissent and oppression.
Eveline is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators, Institute of Chartered Accounts of Ontario and the Ontario Expropriation Association.
